OUR BACKGROUND
Tacoma Engineers has its roots in Guelph, Ontario where Jack Tacoma opened a sole proprietorship in 1980. In 1986, Tacoma Steckley & Associates was formed to expand the company’s capabilities and scope of services. Since 2004 our name has been Tacoma Engineers Inc. to best reflect our commitment to our core competency, structural engineering. The firm has grown steadily to a staff of over thirty people, including professional engineers, project managers, technologists and administration staff. We have grown not for growth’s sake, but to meet the demand of our longtime and referral clients in a low profile manner, yet with the professionalism and determination to provide engineering and design solutions with the highest degree of quality.
In 2002, we opened a branch office in Barrie, Ontario to better serve our growing number of clients in the Barrie and central Ontario area. The Barrie branch recently moved to larger facilities after merging with Meades Engineering in 2007.
